I was thumbing through the FCC database today and noticed a license for AMR for some 800mhz channels. (855.1875 and 810.1875 to be exact callsign= WNHD731) I'll punch them in to see what I hear, but from what I know, they just got a bunch of new Motorola HT-1250's and are VHF 155.220. Anybody know what they are using that 800 stuff for? |

Over on this side they use both 800 and VHF for dispatch, depends on the area. If I remember correctly it's 851.4625 which is patched to 155.16. |

If you look, they have some 800 mhz freqs in various areas across the state. I think they are used for link freqs to their VHF transmitters. |

Nearly 10 years ago AMR bought out most if not all of NW Pipeline (now Williams) 800 conventional repeaters in Oregon and Washington. Not sure if they bought the ones in Utah and the other states? At least down in SW Washington they don't seem to use them too much, except for Larch Mt (855.3625) that gets used for their wheelchair pickup service I think. Locally AMR uses Nextels and the Clark and Portland 800 trunked systems for ambulance dispatch. |
