Does anyone have a clue as to the posting locations for Seattle AMR "900" units? (The "900" cars are the Seattle Fire BLS transport units) They frequently talk about posting cars to "Modified 14", Battalon 22 or Battalion 64 among others. Anyone know where these are? I haven't been able to tell through context. |

Many of AMR's post locations are numbered based on a previous version of the Thomas Brothers maps: Map page 14 covered the "near northend" of Seattle: greenlake, wallingford. So, "Post 14" was originally located near 50th and Aurora, allowing rapid access to Wallingford, University, Ballard, Queen Anne, etc.. "Modified 14" uses I-5 instead of Aurora, improving access times into downtown or to the University area. The whole idea, of course, is to optimize response times. If you look at a Seattle Fire Department Batallion Map, the secret of the "900" Batallion posts should become apparent. |

OK, The Thomas Brothers map page makes sense, but I hear battalions as postings that don't coordinate with the Seattle fire map. I guess it's not that important. :) Just idle curiosity on my part. Thanks for your help. |

I found a battalion map for the city. Look at page 4 of the pdf @http://www.gita.org/events/annual/31/DiTuri_ppt.pdf The color code key is at the bottom of the map. j |
