I forgot to mention my setup in my last post:
- Uniden BR330T with Radio Shack 800 MHz rubber duck. Connected to my main PC running bcTool, recording everything it hits. The irrelevant talkgrous are locked out.
- RS Pro-97 with
this antenna connected to an Archos Jukebox Recorder set to trigger mode. This scanner is loaded with all of the Seattle Center Talkgroups (but not the Seattle PD Center talkgroups).
- Pro-97 hooked up to my Windows laptop running
Audacity. I could never get scancorder (sp?) to work right, and it's not very hard to trim out the blank stuff.
- Third Pro-97 half disassembled and not doing a whole lot; I was using it for troubleshooting earlier.
- Main PC has an Excel file with TG notes for this event and some general notes about the entire system. iBook for internet. Maybe I ought to take a few
pictures… :)
Ongoing notes:
24912- They have a few more packages at the gate. These are packages that are being given away, they may or may not be packages of earplugs.
3472- Guy in a white van on his cell phone was blocking the left lane. He sat through a green light and nobody behind him was able to turn left.
- This channel must be dedicated to the officers directing traffic. I thought they kept saying "RV" but I figured out it's RB--Royal Brougham. According to the conversation they just had, traffic is about as backed up as it would be during a Hawks game, but they're contemplating shutting down an intersection to help improve traffic flow. Most of the back ups have to do with the Qwest garage, they only let a small amount of cars in at a time.
It was pretty quiet between 19:00 and 21:00. 3472 is silent now; 24912 has lots of requests for help and the like. There must be a dispatcher listening in, as the users announce when their section is under control. At one point, one user asked Mary, who seems to be in the dispatcher position, if she copied something that he just said.
