AFAIK, they pretty much stay on the VHF Marine band for any local operations that are unsecured. Channel 16 (156.8 Mhz) is the primary USCG calling frequency for distress. Here's a complete chart of the VHF Marine plan: http://www.navcen.uscg.gov/marcomms/vhf.htm For HF, they have always been at 2182, 4125, 6215, 5696 and 8983 Khz (USB). 5696 is their primary frequency nationally. They also use any available ITU (HF Marine) channels as well if necessary. Here's a link to the ITU HF channels and the USCG's use of them: http://www.navcen.uscg.gov/marcomms/hig ... efault.htm For aircraft, they use a lot of VHF/UHF but they're not assigned AFAIK. -Nick |

They had a repeater up at Fort Lawton on 171.150. I think the channel was either LM3 or LM5. Marine 21A (157.050) has some occasional activity. Their special ops (Seafair) is usually on 81A (157.075) Traffic between USCG and Canadian CG is on 22A (157.100) Port ops are on 23A (157.150) Auxiliary uses 83A (157.175) and repeaters on 143.280 & 148.725. Mostly Whatcom county stuff on these. |

Vic.BC has started to use 157.175 so cutters are using .125 and .150 for op's. It's strange that In dian Island small boat security still using Family Radio at times (the real family radio). |

What about the coast guard helicopter frequencies? A couple weeks ago they needed the CG helicopter by Fox Island. I had no clue where to look to find the freqs. -Louie- |

Louie, They are all here in this post. Put them in and listen. The other thing to do is just search the marine band 156.2 -157.175. |
