Part of my job includes selling tickets via Ticketmaster, and the most popular event is by far Mexico VS China. All I know is that it's some really important soccer game and there's only crappy seats left. Yesterday a coworker and I were talking about the event and apparently SPD is bringing in thousands (?) of officers to help with security for the event. I highly doubt thousands... but we'll see. I'm just wondering which talkgroups to monitor (I won't be at the game). I'll definitly have 6736, 6768, 6800, 6832, 6864, 6896, 6960, and also 4336, 4368, and 4688 just in case. Any others they've used at special events? |

 this should make for some VERY interesting scanning! Thousands of officers for a soccer game does not sound odd.. Have you seen some of these matches, but then again they are usually in other countries...on any level it should be some good scanning.. |

24912 they're trying to grab people. The M's are in LA tonight, so I'm 99.9% positive it has nothing to do with Safeco. Unless something else is going on there tonight... On 3024 I'm hearing "Stadium 1" and "Stadium 2" talk about the Southwest and Northwest gates being closed, the East side gates are pinned closed too. |

"Check check, radio check" on 3824. No response. Radio check on 3504. Not sure if this is related. Another radio check. 3024 continuing talks about the gates on different sides of the stadium. Not sure which one is 1 and which is 2, or what's going on at Safeco. The Futbol Fiesta began at 16:00. The game doesn't start until 21:00. I don't know what the Fiesta is, but it said on the tickets (I work for a company that has a Ticketmaster outlet). I think I might dedicate another recorder to just 3024. Also Seattle Theatre Group (STG) presents KAYNE WEST GLOW IN THE DARK TOUR CO-STARING RIHANNA, N.E.R.D. AND LUPE FIASCO, Wednesday, April 16, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. at KeyArena. I've got the 6 Seattle Center talkgroups in another scanner and I'm recording whatever comes up. Taking a break to eat now... |

There's a pager on one of the voice channels for the Seattle Simulcast. At least that's what I think that sound is. I can't get either of my extra Pro97s to pick up Seattle Simo very well. They're both using stock antennas as I'm out of 800 MHz antennas (I have 1 800 antenna and one that seems to do OK on 800. Between getting those two set up and listening, here's what I've heard: 24912 - Loud noises in the background from one person. Sounds like a horn blaring constantly. Another person joked to him, "you have selective hearing and you still need earplugs?" - Something about a ramp just below Royal brougham. - Mark is needed at 230 Merchandise skills for language skills - "We just got 4 good packages in case anyone needs any" 3472 -This TG might be related to this event as well. An officer was confirming that they were closing off one street, but the his portable was going dead and he didn't hear it the first time. I think they said 1st Ave. - Something about Edgar Martinez Way and "the garage." It's gotta be related. - Bob? will be there until 40 minutes after the game. Then, someone will meet him there to pick up the... cones? - Apologizing to Jimmy because of the train crossing the tracks. - An officer found out that they're allowing two lanes to turn into Qwest Field. |

I forgot to mention my setup in my last post: - Uniden BR330T with Radio Shack 800 MHz rubber duck. Connected to my main PC running bcTool, recording everything it hits. The irrelevant talkgrous are locked out. - RS Pro-97 with this antenna connected to an Archos Jukebox Recorder set to trigger mode. This scanner is loaded with all of the Seattle Center Talkgroups (but not the Seattle PD Center talkgroups). - Pro-97 hooked up to my Windows laptop running Audacity. I could never get scancorder (sp?) to work right, and it's not very hard to trim out the blank stuff. - Third Pro-97 half disassembled and not doing a whole lot; I was using it for troubleshooting earlier. - Main PC has an Excel file with TG notes for this event and some general notes about the entire system. iBook for internet. Maybe I ought to take a few pictures… :) Ongoing notes: 24912 - They have a few more packages at the gate. These are packages that are being given away, they may or may not be packages of earplugs. 3472 - Guy in a white van on his cell phone was blocking the left lane. He sat through a green light and nobody behind him was able to turn left. - This channel must be dedicated to the officers directing traffic. I thought they kept saying "RV" but I figured out it's RB--Royal Brougham. According to the conversation they just had, traffic is about as backed up as it would be during a Hawks game, but they're contemplating shutting down an intersection to help improve traffic flow. Most of the back ups have to do with the Qwest garage, they only let a small amount of cars in at a time. It was pretty quiet between 19:00 and 21:00. 3472 is silent now; 24912 has lots of requests for help and the like. There must be a dispatcher listening in, as the users announce when their section is under control. At one point, one user asked Mary, who seems to be in the dispatcher position, if she copied something that he just said. |

Good loggings and great info A.T. Thanks for all that. I wanted to listen to all this activity as well, but i can't get either of my Pro-97's both with 800 mhz antennas to track seattle trs very well. In fact it seems as if all my reception here at my new place in Newcastle is really piss poor.. I'm really beginning to think there is something bad in this building causing interference with all electronic devices. Not sure if its wiring or something inn someones elses place causing the interference but whatever it is is really putting a huge dent in all my scanning as its just no fun to isten to anymore when 99% of it is garbled static.. Oh well maybe its time to give up scanning... lol I have 4 scanners that would bring me some good $$$$.. We'll see |

I thought it was kinda quiet... I accidently had it on ID Scan instead of ID search for the past 4 hours. And the Safeco channel is pretty dead too. I think the game is over now... |
