A look at the VHF High Band shows that EVERY Public Safety radio frequency from 153.74 to 159.21 is licenced to someone within a 40 mile radius of Seattle. But are they active or in use ??? Can anyone confirm some of the more active channels ?? How about 154.785, 154.815, 154.86 or 154.875 ??? Are any of them in use ?? If not -- how about turning in those licenses -- so some one else could use them. |

Well, Mike, off the top of my head, 154.785 is the Sumner PD Primary dispatch channel and 154.815 is Normandy Park PD F-1 dispatch (db: Fife). Are you the new APCO co-ord? |

We would love to know also... As a licensee though when things change you tend to want to hold on to the old licenses just in case. Eventually you move on... and those behind you never know why they are renewing these old licenses... ect ect... |

LOL LOL -- NO, I am not one of the two APCO State co-ordinators. But I do use APCO alot. And I also agree that -- most PSAP's or agencies -- tend to hold on - to the old radio freqs, for a number of valid reasons. However, we all have to play nice and share. There is no reason one frequency can not be used by two or more users -- within the same area. One user might be the Primary user -- another agency -- a secondary user. But just holding on to the channel and never using it is bad manors. So Issaquah PD is no longer on 154.785. And 154.86 and 154.875 have no active users -- so it would appear. MTM |
