Well, over the past week, I've noticed that Bainbridge Island units are being dispatched on 154.370, along with the rest of the county. The low-band repeater on 33.700 appears to be quiet.
According to the Fire Commission notes from the BI Fire web page, it appears there was some talk of "surplusing" the old (low band) equipment. There is also information on the acquisition of "new equipment" over the past year - some of it acquired through grants, some of it donated from the Dept of Emergency Management.
So, the last low-band hold out in the Puget Sound area is gone.... Will be interesting to listen to the Kitsap County switch over to their new frequencies and their addition of simulcasting to select channels.
