I am finally moving back to Seattle (Queen Ann area) after
being gone for 25 years. I believe SPD switched from
460 mhz to a 800 mhz trunked system. Last scanner I
purchased was a pro-2006 (about 15 years ago) and I have
never used a trunk system. I am considering buying a uniden
BC250D but do not know if I will need digital card. Will this
scanner work with SPD without a digital card? If so, will SPD go
digital anytime in the near future? Any advise would be helpful!

You won't need a digital card. Most traffic is, and will stay analog for quite some time. Any digital is encrypted anyway.
