This is the old Sumner Fire Dept dispatch and response freq... In the last week or so, I've heard: -Simplex fire dispatching in Buckley; -Repeated (simo from TRS?) fire dispatching in Enumclaw; -Repeated (simo from TRS?) PD traffic from poss Enumclaw; and -Simplex PD traffic from Sumner? I can read the licenses as well as the next guy, does anyone "on the ground" have any solid info on this one? I may make east Pierce County my next project.... |

:D :D I have said it before -- but it's worth repeating. The FCC admits that it's own data base is very "out of date". As many as half of the real radio users have no valid radio license. PW Public Safety users are no exception. In fact some public agencies are the most "out of date". Old users may still be using a channel -- without a valid FCC license. And some channels / frequencies become common "area" channels -- after several local agencies all use the same channel. 155.88 was first assigned to Enumclaw (PD, Fire + PWD) and then Sumner -- as a Public works channel. Over a period of time (years) -- it has become a common use channel -- with some agencies -- just never filing for a valid FCC license. And -- while King County has moved to the 800 Mhz trunked system --- almost any old VHF or UHF radio channel is used to "patch" into another system --- without regard to it still being a licensed frequency. ---- Boards like this one -- have better and more up to date information than all of the FCC files. |

Enumclaw Fire dispatches on 155.880. If you're hearing simulcast trunked, it's probably Valley Com units (Medic 12) responding on a call with Enumclaw. Otherwise Enumclaw Fire typically uses VHF simplex. It's simulcast on TG 32048 on the KC/VC system. I know Sumner Fire used to dispatch there as well when they had their own dispatch center, but since they went to Firecom they use the same frequencies everybody else in Pierce County does. I have no idea if Buckley Fire uses it. |

East Pierce still has access as an "admin" channel, Sumner PD uses it if there is a problem with the repeater on the main PD channel, but mainly it's Enumclaw primary fire. |

This freq was used about 30 years ago by the Jefferson County Sheriff's Dept. before they went to UHF. My crew and I took down the base station antenna on the courthouse last year that was used on that system. It had been used for another system since the change... Just a bit of frequency history... I think their callsign for this frequency was WQS201. |
