I noticed Boeing Fire A-40 at Auburn Regional this afternoon. I have seen it there before. I also saw a Boeing Aid Car on SR167 which looked like it could have been headed to Valley Medical Center. My question is: When they are transporting to a local hospital, and say have to step it up to code three, do they notify the local dispatch center so local agencies are aware they are running through them? Is there a way to pick up their dispatch and response? Also, do their engine companies ever respond on a mutual aid response to assist local districts? Many thanks, Gampawayne |

Many thanks, Gampawayne I highly doubt they'd notify anyone other than their own dispatch of an upgrade to a code repsonse. They are emergency vehicles so there is no need. As I understand it, all of Boeings emergency services are on their own private Motorola Privacy Plus or SmartNet 800MHz systems which allows them to respond under mutual aid agreements with surrounding agencies. The recent brush fire on I-5 near 200th and Military Rd. (trying to remember the units correctly) Boeing sent an aid car and a crash truck (foam truck) as did Port of Seattle Fire. They responded on the designated Valley Com fire tac. |

In Snohomish County if you are entering the city of Everett running "CODE" it is procedure to let SNOPAC know. SNOPAC then goes on the "AIR" on TAC 1 and lets Everett Fire know that an emergency vehicle is running "CODE" and route. This is a safety issue so that rigs do not collide at intersections. |

It's the same here in Clallam, If we transport from sequim we advise PenCom that we are coming into Port Angeles running code, they then advise both P.A Fire and P.A PD, it's the same with other districts an ambulance companys out here, we only have 1 hospital so people need to know whos running code, |

Boeing FD has communications capability with any of our surrounding jurisdictions. In Everett we are required to notify SNOPAC if running code through the city - heading south we have no requirement. In Everett we also can Code Green incoming units on false alarms - Seattle, Tukwilla, Renton, Auburn and Fredrickson do not have permission to do so from their jurisdictions. |

Do you mean run code thru the city or Code Green other responding units? |
