The past few days there has intermitantly been a repeating transmission on 853.5375 Mhz that says:

"This is the City of Seattle Lighting Department, Seattle City Light.
Transmitting on 853.5375 Mhz, Channel 4, performing simulcast radio system coverage analysis, WNNR521."

Fairly good signal in NE Seattle, much better than the regular non-simulcast dispatch channels.

Presumably this is work being done as part of the radio system upgrade that keeps showing up in the capitol improvement projects documents.

The "City Light" radio system consists of a 4 frequency -- non-trunked system. 851.2875 (R), 852.0375 (R), 852.7875 (R) and 853.5375 (R). These four channels are not part of the King County trunked radio system.
