I just realized today that I am no longer hearing SNOPAC North dispatch, TG 560 on the West Simulcast anymore. This TG use to only be on the East Simulcast but a few months ago it started showing up on the West Simulcast. So I fired up my East Simulcast assuming it again was only on that simulcast, however the control channel for that simulcast, 868.9250 is silent. Anyone know what is going on?

SNOPAC has done something? I live in the Edmonds Lynnwood area and used to be able to listen to Fire Tac 5 and Fire Tac 6 clear as day, and now it is scratchy.

Last night I was returning to 74's Maltby from 71's Clearview and East County Fire Tac 3 was very unreadable. Sometimes SNOPAC would switch transmitters and forget to switch back.

Any ideas on this?

East Simulcast Control has switched to 868.7500. I am hoping this is not a permanent thing because I cannot receive this control channel as well as the other one.

I E-mailed Mark M. at SERS and asked him what is going on.

OK, I think I know what was going on with East County Fire Tac 3. SNOPAC is suppose to dispatch on what is called Multi-Select meaning that East County Fire will be transmitted on both West & East Simulcast. If SNOPAC transmits on only East Simulcast this will effect scanner listeners as well as South County agency radio users.

Thanks for info on the control channel. I'm up and running. Interesting that the frequency used for the control channel is not listed a primary or secondary control channel on radio toolshed.

I sure wish they would go back to broadcasting all TG's on both systems.

I'm assuming you put in the new control channel for the East Simulcast? I'm in the Edmonds\Mukilteo area and I am hearing North Dispatch Tac5 okay from here.

I have all the 800mhz freq. programed, not using Control Channel only option. Is there now a new Control Channel that I may not have programed?

The new control channel is 868.7500. I just programmed it in today and it's working fine.

I'm confused! I always had 868.7500 programmed, it was not listed as a CC but still was programmed.

Yup. Like I said before it's not listed as a CC, but that is what is being used. At least today it is. :)

Great. It's a little scratchy for me but I can easily make out everything.

Multi-Select has more to do with the resources a dispatcher is transmitting on SIMULTANEOUSLY - i.e., the dispatcher can select to transmit on 154.430 and TAC-5 at the same time.

A dispatcher CAN'T select what part of the system (East or West) that they transmit on. That function is done in the Zone Controller in the back room. All they have to do is hit the transmit button, and the system will select what parts of the system they transmit on (based on how the system is configured by the administrators, and on what radio(s) are affiliated with particular parts of the system). It's transparent to both the users and dispatchers.

The system administrators may have recently made some changes to the system - hence, some traffic may not be heard on both parts of the system anymore.

Brad.
