Post subject:  Ravensdale Fire Dist 47

I'm tryingt to monitor the Ravensdale voly fire dept. I know that it's part of the King Co. trunk and that they are dispatched by Valley Com. I had programmed my scanned with
CC - 851.81250
TG - 35888
TG - 37488
TG - 37520
TG - 37552
TG - 37584
TG - 40240

Then I visited a friend of mine who is a FF there. He had his radio with him but I was not hearing dispatch or the TG they respond on. So, I clearly had the wrong TG's programmed. And possibly the wrong control channel.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Next time try the search feature on your scanner to lock in on the Talk-Group.

I did. There were way too many TG being used.

Have your FF friend key the Mike when you are in search mode. This can be done at a time when traffic is low.

Ravensdale is dispatched by Valley Com. They use Fire 1-7. See this site for talkgroup info. You should hear them toned out on Fire 1. They are Stations 88 and 89.

Yes, those are the right talkgroups. Fire 4 (38544) is used for any full response. Fire 5, 6, and 7 may be used for additional fires. Ravensdale isn't very busy -- so you won't hear them toned out very often.

They may also used District 47 admin at times. 39248

I guess I am a little confused.
Yesterday I was scrolling through the Maple Valley FD web page and there it shows Engine 82 from their department covering Ravensdale. It even shows a picture of an engine which has E-82 Ravensdale on the side. Who really covers this area?

You're actually right. I was using the wrong terminology. Ravensdale is part of Maple Valley Fire's first due area. District 47 is Palmer/Selleck.

Still, they're all on the same talkgroups, and they all respond together.

You are right. They do use the same talkgroups, are dispatched from the same facility and work together well.
The abovementioned talk groups are the ones I listen to for Valley Comm and should provide you with many hours of listening.
