I'm monitoring 155.190 which is the output frequency for MARS. I'm hearing a couple of truck drivers talking about stupid mechanics. They mentioned you used to be able to smell Tacoma. I know it's not front end overload because I can receive it on a rubber duck on my handheld very weak. They also mentioned the Poodle Dog in Fife. They did mention Alaska. Anyone one else hear this? Canadian truckers us VHF radios. American CBs get modded to hell and so do their Canadian cousins. I've noticed it when they get into the old Snohomish Co conventional VHF system on a dispatch forcing the dispatcher to move all the traffic to a tac. |

Canuk boats also have them. They used to blow our Alaska State Troopers (155.250) off the air once in a while. Some used voice inversion scramblers too. Easily decoded with a ssb radio. |

:D Try listening to 154.65 -- the input to MARS repeater on 155.19 (R). 154.65 is very close to some business band channels -- ( 154.46 to 154.64). Sometimes it's Canada -- and sometimes its LOCAL. Check for a PL or DPL tone if you can. You may be might just be hearing "bootleg" truckers on 155.19 direct. Just be sure to look for a PL tone. Check the UHF MARS channel as well. 460.55 Mhz. If you don't hear 154.65 or 460.55 -- it's just on 155.19 direct -- . |

Thanks for the tips. I did check the input, it was definately on the output. I didn't check 460.550, but they didn't come across on the trunk system. I didn't get to check for a tone though. Vince. |

That is what I suspected. None of the King County Comm Centers or mobile units can hear the truckers. Not unless the radio is set to "open PL". If you locate the truckers PL tone --- then the Radio Shop could contact them. Truckers or anyone else on a Publuic Safety radio chanel -- could cause some real problems. |
