Post subject:  Fire tone-out Shoreline

Hi all. I just got my Uniden BCD396T. Does anybody have the fire tone-outs for Shoreline FD? Sorry if this has already been asked.

The "plectron" alert tones are known only to each department. There are hundreds of possible codes. Try calling the Fire District directly. You will need to know what "series" and "what tones". Good Luck.

You can record the tones off the air, and find some software to get the audio frequencies. After a few days, you should be able to correlate the tone sequence to the unit(s). MT had an article about it a few months ago.

Good Idea ! However -- The "Plectron" Comany went out of business about ten years ago. They had been the major "Tone Alert" receiver company for many years. New technology helped put them out of business. There are several different companies making these systems -- all with different tones and equipment. Each County - City - and Agency has a different system. If anyone has access to such information -- please submit it.

The easiest way is for any Vol. Firfighters or paid Firefighters out there that still use Mototola Minitors is to copy the Cap Codes / Reeds off the chip.

Station 64 2 tone 1st tone 1084 2nd tone 1743.0

I just put Wintone on my thinkpad. It's great for logging tones.

[tangent]
I've been logging tone outs on 460.625 which is Belleuve/Eastside fire dispatch. It's a series of DTMF then Quick Call II.

I'll post the results here.

Will Tone-Outs work on the 800Mhz Trunked Systems or are people using this feature on Conventional scanning since a lot of dispatch agencies are still simulcasting both systems?

Bellevue/ESFP dispatch is Simulcasted on the 800 system/VHF/UHF.

Thank you!

Since I am relatively new to scanning, now I need to figure out how to program my BCD396T for this feature. I am will use the tones you gave me "tone A" and "tone B", but I am not sure what to use for the "frequency". I will let you know when I figure this out.

Use 154.400 as the frequency. This is for all fire agencies located north of SR520 to the Sno County line. This is one of the two simulcasted frequencies to the EPSCA trunked system talkgroup 22384(Fire Dispatch 1). The other is 154.190 for agencies other than Bellevue Fire Dept. that are south of SR520.

Also try 460.625 on the Eastside. It's the same simulcast but they've got a DTMF stream before the 2-tone is sent
