Beginning January 1, 2007 Sumner Fire Department will be consolidating with East Pierce Fire and Rescue. Sumner's existing firefighters will become employees of East Pierce and East Pierce will up the level of people manning the Sumner station. I imagine we will see them pursuing a full merger sometime next year. Nick Welch |
