I've heard that Valleycom will be scrapping their current data network for MDC's and go with a secure commercial provider for mobile data. This change will be part of a much larger transition from an older computer dispatch system to a new setup which will integrate Computer Aided Dispatcher, records and data management, AVL/mapping and as mentioned, mobile data. I believe this is what Seattle Police and Fire did within the last five or so years. Anyone else heard about this? |
