Any body knows there ltr trs freq order and freq for King County for WSDOT

You need an EF Johnson Multinet-Capable radio- and a system key.

You would also need to add a data-slicer to your scanner.

I have a pro 97. What's a data-slicer

It takes audio from the discriminator. THat is, it is the unfiltered signal before it is turned into a physical sound.

That way the data remains intact.

What would happen if you just punched in those 5 freqs and scanned them conventionally? I realize you might not follow conversations properly everytime, but I imagine there's not that much traffic? I suppose I should try it, but has anybody had any luck with that?

I don't quite understand the layout of WaDot's LTR multi-net, but here is what I usually do to monitor a local area.

I program for instance the 'home channel" of 852.6625 in which I might hear one side of the initial conversation but not necessarialy both sides. I then have to switch to the "status channel" for that area say, 854.1625. I usually hear both sides on that but not always.

If I try to monitor the home channel, it sounds like a constant carrier which is annoying to constantly listen. Unless I've got it backwards, refering to 'home' and 'status" this is what I do. If you're in King Co. the 151 mhz link should work, but maybe it's just for the east side.

I may have been sleeping again -- ( I was in the LA Dodger dug-out with everyone else that was asleep ) but --- doesn't the PRO-97 -- receive LTR systems ??? Isn't the PRO-97 one of the very few that can decode LTR signals ??? If so --- check your owners manual on how to program it to work.

Multi-Net is a different flavor than a normal LTR system.

I've got an unprogrammed EF Johnson 85XX portable, but it will be outdated as soon as rebanding takes place.

The replacement radio is the Ascend Portable. I does P25 IMBE, Smartnet/Smartzone and LTR Multinet.

It would be the perfect radio for SPD officers who need coordination with WSDOT workers. I'd guess WSP would need it more than SPD though:

That's what I like about EFJ. Radios that are worth more as bulk scrap -- than as two-way radios. Just like my old EFJ 949 UHF repeater. JUNK. as for the idea of State Patrol/Police needing to talk to the highway crews --- it's a very very very low need -- if any. Good idea. -- Just not on the "this to do" list by state officials.

Yeah, how often is the 'patch' up on Snoqulamie used by the WSP to communicate or is it just a WsDot reciever on the WSP channel line-up?

Hum,what do you mean? When WSP transmits from Snoqualmie Pass they are talking to the repeater on Stampede Pass (just east of Snoqualmie). I'm pretty sure WSDOT has a transmitter on Dodge Ridge co-located with the 800mhz KC TRS system. I've always wondered why WSP didn't put a transmitter there but I guess they just don't need it.

Around here (Goldendale) I think the WSP cars have DOT radios.

WSP is at Stampede and Rattlesnake for I-90 if memory serves me correctly. The Dodge Ridge site isn't a really good site for microwave. Stampede really is a good site for microwave.
