Press release from NAS Whidbey: ----------- FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE RELEASE 06-29 Sept. 12 2006 F/A-18 Hornet squadrons training over Olympic Peninsula NAVAL AIR STATION WHIDBEY ISLAND, Wash. - Strike Fighter Squadron 125 (VFA-125) from Naval Air Station (NAS) Lemoore, Calif., and Naval Reserve Fighter Squadron Composite 12 (VFC-12) from NAS Oceana, Va., arrived here this weekend to begin routine training over the Olympic Peninsula. VFA-125, the U.S. Navy's F/A-18 Fleet Replacement Training Squadron, sent 12 jets, while VFC-12 sent eight. This detachment brought about 200 military personnel. They will be flying multiple sorties a day, all in daylight hours, now through late September. -- 30 -- |

I guess thats why I heard a plane ask permission to vertical to 40k feet. I'm used to hearing EA6B's and P22's - vertical was a term I never heard. -m |
