They have a VHF, UHF radios as well as a MCS-2000 II with the 255 mode upgrade. We may be upgrading it to a XTL shortly for digital, and POS, Tacoma and SERS talkgroups |

The guy in the picture looks like the Stay-Puff Marshmellow Man. Or the guy that runs all of those CIA jails --- that do not exist. LOL |

So I started wondering about something as I was reading this thread. Question for perhaps Sean - when you operate a 800mhz trunked radio from the air, do the radios experience the same problems that cell phones do being operated from aircraft (i.e. receiving too many cell site signals and being unable to lock onto any one cell because of the different reception you get from the air?). I.E. would the radios have a difficult time trying to decide which site to affiliate with from the air? Seemed like something interesting to ponder. |

Seemed like something interesting to ponder. It was an interesting template to write. The Preferences and filter settings are vastly different from the mobiles. Power levels are set way down. The hunt order for the sites and pre programmed CC's are very tightly controlled. So far it seems to work..... |

They currently run 3 normally but have 4 available for flight, 2 OH-58s, 1 UH-1H and a Jet Ranger, Rumor has it that they are going to purchase a Bell 407 and or an Eurocopter AS350. I hope they pick the Bell 407. |
