FCC granted Orting FD -- WQFI-534 -- 156.2025 (Repeater / simplex) and 153.9275 input. "That is all --- MTM"

Who is going to use this channel? Is Orting FD dumping Firecom as their dispatch center?

Hard to say sure sure -- one way or another. It appears the "good ole boy" idea that every FPD needs to have its' own private radio channel and special "ten code" is alive and well. However -- it could go either way. Any Central dispatch center could access the new "private" Orting FD Repeater -- for central dispatching or for local Fireground operations. Up until the early 1980's The Los Angeles County Fire Dept --- Dispatched all alarms on only 3 VHF radio channels -- countywide. Pierce, King and Snohomish Counties joined togather would about equal the same area and about half of the same population -- as LA County. That's like ONE channel per county. Should EVERY FPD in the state --- have it's own private radio channel ??? Just more wasted tax dollars.
