I will apologize in advance for this question because I know I have seen the answer before just can't remember where.

I realize that Fife PD dispatches for Normandy Park PD, my question is do they dispatch them on the frequency of 154.815 or do they dispatch them on their own frequency of 155.490. Also is either one patched to the KC/VC system under the talkgroup 33104. I have tried to listen to all three and can't pickup anything other than Fife and Milton units on the 155.490 freq. I distinctly remember Normandy Park using the callsign Noraxx.

Any help would be appreciated

Richard

There is no patch to the KC system.

Apropos of nothing, doesn't Fife also dispatch for Eatonville now?

EDIT:

Chief DeGroot briefed the Council on the City of Eatonville’s interest for the Fife Police Department to provide communications and dispatch services under contract.

The City of Eatonville has grown dissatisfied with the service provided by LESA, which is the entity that dispatches for the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department and theTacoma Police Department. The original request for cost estimates occurred approximately eight months ago and the City of Eatonville recently expressed a more serious interest in the department’s services. Prior to moving forward with additional discussions, staff would like Council feedback about pursuing the request.

The Eatonville Police Department is a small, six-member police department with an average of 440 calls per year, which equates to 1.3 calls for service per day. Based on the same calls for service formula used for the City of Milton and Normandy Park contracts, the cost of the service for Eatonville could be approximately $27,500 peryear. It would not be necessary to add an additional dispatcher to provide the service. Adding additional service would have a relatively small impact on Fife’s level of service.

Bump.

Was just curious if anybody had an answer. I have still tried to listen to 155.490 and 154.815 and the KC/VC trunked system while travelling south on I-5 without any luck.

Going back to the original entry. Can someone advise what frequency is Normandy Park PD dispatched on if not dispatched on the two listed? I, for one thought I had read they had become part of Valley Comm.
The original entry indicated that Normandy Park uses the term "Nora" for their units. Can anyone advise what Fife, Milton and Eatonville use?
Many thanks,

NPPD is NOT on the trunked system at all. They have access via VHF LERN and MARS. They elected not to purchase any 800 MHz radios with their bond money.

Thanks Sean for confirming that they are not on the KC trunked system.

I guess will just have to wait for a call that involves more than getting a cat of a tree to get a chance at capturing the frequency they are using.

As far as Fife and Milton PD callsigns. I believe that they use their agency name followed by a number ex. "MiltonXX" and "FifeXX" for callsigns. I went on a ride along about 5 years ago with a guy from Milton PD and that was how they identified themselves on the radio.

Last I heard, a few weeks back, Eatonville units were "Eatonville xx", Fife and Milton were using 3 digit numbers (badges?).

As of yesterday (1/20/07), Normandy Park PD was using 154.815 (141.3) simplex for dispatching.

Dispatch id'd as "Fife", the sole unit I heard (on a resburg call) was "Nora-75".

I still have their public works freq, 155.865, listed as "NorPk PD F-3" with a pl tone of 141.3 as well, dunno if they still use it.
