So, with the Blue Angels in the news, I thought I might revive this thread for 2 reasons.

1 - My deepest sympathy goes out to the team during this extremely difficult time for them. I hope they bounce back from this terrible tragedy and remember they are one of the greatest aerial demonstration teams out there. I certainly hope they still perform at Seafair this year.

2 - After Seafair last year, I emailed Larry Van Horn, assistant Editor of MT, and told him about our monitoring experience in 2006 and gave him the link to this thread. Every year he publishes a new piece on monitoring airshows. Last year, we had all the freqs but not descriptions of what each one was used for. We pretty much nailed down each freq last August in this thread, I felt.

Well, I don't know if we can take credit or not, but in this year's (2007) version of the Airshow guide, the freqs are all detailed out - much more detailed then ever before. Each freq has a name (not the case last year). So maybe we helped! So let's hope the Blues do come back again this year and we can all have fun listening in again with our more detailed knowledge of the freqs this year.

You can check out Larry's newsletter here:

Me too! I long ago requested those days off.

Very nice. Thanks for the heads up!
