Yeah you need to be up on a hill plus have a discone or directional antenna.

I can get the west site with my discone (although it's scratchy at times) -- but I need my directional LP to get anything else. Even then it's a tough shot. I can get it via mobile if I drive up to the Rose Hill area in Redmond/Kirkland -- but again, it's only the west site.

Got rid of the silly things...

I like the voice better anyway. I can keep typing, and be on the phone with the caller without having to grab the mouse, and click on the box. I seem to be getting better feedback from the units in the field. I really liked district/station tones, but if we are going to ditch them, lets not try and imporvise something to take their place.

Ken, the only thing I don't like is EFD thinks their "Special" and SNOPAC will say what ever station "Standby for page" But for all other Districts it's "District # standby for page" My Dept. has 7 Stations! Lets do it the same for everyone!
