The first LE agency I worked for, one of my FTOs told me, when we were doing the "how to use the radio" segment, "these are all new radios. They're in a microwave band. Before we had them, we had this crappy 2-meter stuff that was something called repeated."

Bunnery definition for the under-fives

When I was interviewing suppliers for our first radio system I couldn't get the guy to grasp the fact that I actually understood the concept of "trunked radio" after his first go-round.

Apparently he had to repeat it several times normally.

Same people told me that since I didn't have electronics in high school with additional college courses to back it up- Id never be able to get a job installing radio equipment. :roll:

Sometimes I wished they'd have been right.

But back on topic.

Look up the FCC license details. You can get a good idea what ERP they are supposed to be at by checking their license. Not that they are actually transmitting that ERP but generally the same techs will do things the same way at each site. p-25? You may have too much multipath.
