So I have a couple of questions:

1) Can sombody define MIR and FCR ?
2) Where can I find a list of these clearing codes?

I understand how they are used and hear them being used when officers clear a call but a list would be usefull :)

I am really only interested in King County and East side city's.. But seattle is fun to listen too on friday/saturday nights after the bars close! :)

Thanks again.

:D :D First call the SPD and KCSO Public Relations units. Ask for a copy of the SPD - Mir Codes and King County SO FCR codes. Tell them why if they ask. COPS are human beings and interest in Law Enforcement should NOT be out of place. The world we live in SEEMs to make anyone with a question about SECURITY a security risk. They most likely will not even ask. It would be nice IF you get a copy to share with us. In fact Maybe if we ask Mr Policeman might even send you an email directly. If you ask. Good luck. MTM

FCR stands for Final Classification Reporting or if you prefer Field Classification Reporting.

It's basically a way to identify the call when the officer is done with it. You might send a cop to a fight only to have him clear it civil, which makes no sense unless he can assign a code to it that says it wasn't a fight after all.

MIR is a similar system that SPD uses - best guess on the translation I have no idea.

As for a copy of the MIR codes, they are already posted in this thread and there is another page somewhere on the Intercept site that has all of them. FCR codes could be obtained from the Sheriff's office or a friendly Deputy.

I'm not sure where the paranoia about asking the police for things came from in this thread. Most cops will answer questions if you ask them.[/quote]
