If someone doesn't get to it first, next week I will cull all the additions and repost a state list.

Port Angeles : 154.77 out, 155.25 in, Bellingham: 154.755 out, 155.25 in. -- There are only 3 or 4 frequencies used as car to car. 155.46, 154.905, 154.935. 155.445. The update from WSP radio techs -- is that all radio upgrades are on hold --- pending merger of WSP, DOT and DNR radio shops. This could bring some BIG changes. WSP and DNR on high band VHF and DOT on 800 mhz trunking.

State Patrol should go to trunking. It would be easier I think.

The idea of "Trunking" is to allow more radio users to use LESS radio frequencies than they would --- if those same users all had one or more dedicated radio channels or frequencies. Use of 20 trunked frequencies could or should take the place of 30 to 60 non-trunked frequncies. However -- as soon as the FCC allocates a new group or band for public safety radio use -- those frequencies are eaten up as if they were candy. Not ONE old VHF fire frequency has been given up -- for use by others in King County. In fact -- there is MORE use of VHF High Band and UHF radio frequencies -- just within King County -- then there was 20 years ago. PIGS. Trunking is NOT a cure for all radio problems or uses. The California Highway Patrol now uses EVERY VHF Low Band frequency allocated for State Police use ( 42.02 to 42.94 ) -- just to be able to cover the entire state.

What about put DNR, DOT, and State Patrol all on the same trs. I was just put it out there. It also gives possable of psops N1, N2, S1, and S2 to be patch for chases instead of switching reaching over to change to channel to LERN so that state can talk to local cops with the patch.

I will get the reformatting of this info, but not for a few more weeks.

Add to the car to car freq's - 154.755 (Bellingham). It was used between two units Sunday morning around Longview and I-5.

Hey -- Mark, Looks like there are 4 frequencies -- used for car to car. In order -- 155.445, 155.46, 154.755 and 154.935. Both 155.445 and 155.46 can be used any where and 154.755 will be used as an "Area" dispatch channel at Chehalis and Bellingham. 154.935 is an "Area" dispatch channel at Wenatchee -- but used as a car to car -- in District 7. ---- HOT NEWS : The WSP has a request to use 158.49 -- YES -- 158.49 -- mobile input to RCC channel 1 -- as a mobile input in Whatcom and Skagit Counties. The FCC data base -- shows 158.74 as well --- but that is NOT a real frequency / channel. Looks like a typo.

Car 1 155.445 is used in Oly/Tac
Car 3 has been used in Dist 5 for some time Also Tri-Cities
170.245 is used as a wireless mic freq by WSP Kennewick

Bite thy tongue! Trunking (unless they stick it on VHF, like we have now) would be a frelling nightmare!

Let me put it this way. WA-DoT went to 800MHz trunking. The rumors I've heard through the 'techies grapevine,' as it were, say that the system hasn't really worked right since Day 1, and it all has to do with the kind of terrain we have here in the lovely Puget Sound region.

ValleyCom got away with it, as did Seattle, but I think it's only because they put in lots and lots and LOTS of sites.

We'll stick to VHF conventional for now, thank you. ;-)
