So, took a jaunt up to the casino today, took the radio along. And the wife.

Lost some, won some, and broke even.

Nailed down a few freqs as well...

464.7625- (82.5) Housekeeping department; repeated.

464.575- (156.7) Food and beverage department (Need more Patron!), repeated.

452.125- (DPL 054) Engineering department; repeated.

453.1625- (151.4) Security department; repeated.

452.4625- (DPL 306) Information Technology department; repeated (mostly called to fix slots...er, VGD machines).

453.9375- (CSQ, I think) Parking garage security. Repeated.

452.700- (67.0) Bingo Bldg; repeated. Seems most operations were on here.

452.800- (DPL 131) Possibly Bingo Bldg security? Repeated.

155.820- (DPL 703) Tribal Gaming agents for casino (cops). Repeated.

158.895- (DPL 703) Input to 155.820.

464.8375- Unknown, only the occasional open mike with casino noise in the background.

451.8625 (67.0) I think this was a supervisory channel used at the Bingo bldg. Simplex.

451.9375- Same as 464.8375, but I heard someone call for Terry on this channel. Simplex.

453.6125 (?) Possibly the security chat channel. I heard some guys talking on this one, referring to it as "two", but wasn't firmly convinced they were with the casino. Security there uses 3-digit IDs or SAM-xx identifiers. XXX would be officers, Sam-xx would be a supervisor. The guys on this freq were talking on a first-names basis about a trip to a lake for fishing. I was thinking maybe it was traffic from the somewhere else, as it was simplex and the other 2 freqs were both repeated.

Muckleshoot has built out their LTR system, WQFX650.

I don't know the LCN for the freqs yet, because I just dropped them all in the PSR500 and it automatically moved them into the right order, but there's some weird ones in there as well, so I can't figure out how to read them. Talkgroups as follows:

0-01-102- VGD Channel (slot attendants)

0-01-104- Housekeeping channel

0-01-106- Kitchen traffic, possibly a supervisor's channel

0-01-107- Bar traffic (still need that Patron!)

0-01-108- IT Department fixing slots

0-01-120- Security Primary (poss Ch-1)

0-01-123- Parking Security channel, called Ch-3

As an aside, the Muckleshoot Tribe has had a bunch of VHF-high freqs licensed for quite awhile. I've never heard anything on them, but then, I didn't pay them a whole bunch of attention.

The tribe doesn't have a police department.

So what are these?

This line of thought came about as I saw a tribal-licensed pickup truck sitting at a gas station in downtown Auburn today...It had a VHF quarter wave antenna on the roof.

Heh, well, some of the Auburn Public Works trucks have UHF antennas on top, but from what I can tell, they don't have any radios. I peeked inside a truck once and there was nothing on/in/below the dash. It's kinda hard to get close to most of the trucks, as their operators are nearby and would tend to ask questions.

That's Metro's data channel for even numbered busses.

Confirmed 155.820 and 158.895. More to come as these guys contine to talk... are they even open at 02:00?

464.2625 CWID WPQB700 (A T T WIRELESS SERVICES) (Terminated) WTF? I hear the LTR data bursts though. No traffic yet.
464.3125 LCN 01; sometimes I see 05 & 07 come up. CWID
464.3375 I think this should be 464.33125. Twice I've seen ?-?-255 as LCN 15 come up during a brief, silent transmission. I heard one voice transmission but saw no LTR data.
464.4375 LCNs 29, 27, 11, 26, 22, 13, 26, 09, 11 (all during non voice transmissions)
464.8625 LCN 04, CWID WQFX650

452.7000 LCN 04 comes up every time. But the channel is also used with PL of 67.0. If it is indeed an LTR channel, it must be part of a different system (Puget Sound Instrument).
451.8625 Heard the LTR post ID ANI but didn't see any LTR data

Other Muckleshoot-related frequencies:
158.9025 Just heard someone say "copy". There was a PL but I hit MAN too quickly and I didn't see what it was.

Talkgroups:
0-01-100 A few accidental keys and a couple of comms I coudn't understand. This channel is pretty much only used for dead keys. By looking at radio IDs, it's mostly security units that come up here.
0-01-101 This channel is accessable by security units, but it appears they only come up on accident here.
0-01-102 Confirmed VGD. This channel is boring as hell. Used a lot.
0-01-103 Heavy Duty Housekeeping.
0-01-104 Confirmed Housekeeping.
0-01-105 Confirmed Engineering.
0-01-106 This is definitely a kitchen channel, but it might be used for chefs, not supes. I'm not entirely sure though. It's really confusing me. I've heard people being addressed by first name, first and last name, Chef First Name, Chef First Last, Chef initials, Steward First; also calls to Banquet and Warehouse. This channel might be called Food.
0-01-107 Confirmed Beverage. Heard many requests to change various drinks. Someone from VGD just tried to raise Beverage. So they call this TG Beverage. Also various Beverage Ops here. 106 referenced a channel called Beverage.
0-01-108 Confirmed IT.
0-01-109 Called a few things, but Marketing is that they call it most.
0-01-110 Mostly calls to Receiving, though sometimes they lump it together as "Warehouse Shipping & Receiving". Warehouse never responds, it's probably because they're always on 106.
0-01-111 Someone announcing that they're going to lunch.
0-01-120 Confirmed Security Primary
0-01-121 Same as 101.
0-01-122 Same as 101.
0-01-123 Confirmed Security for Parking. Never heard any reference to "Ch 3" but it's definitely the parking lot guards.
0-01-124 Same as 101, but almost always Parking units that come up.
0-01-201 On multiple days one person from Engineering called other Engineering units to no response.

Other Notes:
- I've been using one of my Pro-97s as they are good, er, OK at finding LCNs.
- Now that I've got 5 of 7 frequencies down, I'll put this in my 330 and log it all night/tomorrow.
- These guys must have taken a radio training class. Whoever taught this class needs to be shot. The users use the word "copy" improperly. Copy is not a substitution for the word "over" or "go ahead". Sorry to rant, it just gets real annoying after a while.

The Muck casino uses a 1 watt, 7 repeater, LTR system. It's only intended to cover the site and nothing else. That's why you see other common frequencies on their FB8 license. For 1 watt it covers the site really well. I was one of the techs that installed and programmed the system.

So I just took a look at my manual, and it appears that you're only supposed to look at the LCN decoder when there's a transmission. Sometimes it'll randomly pop up at the bottom, I guess it was misinterpreting random noise it heard.

Those other frequencies you have Wil could be for Muckleshoot Public Works.

It's not a roger beep, it's MDC-1200 ANI signalling.
There is no repeater #17 at the muck. Only 1-7.

We tried to train them... TRSUT ME, WE TRIED... It was hard enough just getting them to wait until after the que to talk tones before talking. There was a lot of "Bob this is Larry *beep* *beep* *beep* Then they turn to me and complain "SEE! My radio doesn't work!"

The first one, I have no clue. Sounds like someone calling "Dejaa" or a strange pronounciation of "DJ", and asking if he/she is at "320". No clue.

Okay, the second one is security traffic, you have 304 calling 5-0 Control, which is the surveillance/alarm center for the Casino. When one of the security guys takes a 'fill', which is a bunch of chips or cash or what-have-you-valuable-assets from one of the cages to a table, notice they always call 5-0? The surveillance people keep a camera on them all the way. They also call for openings and closings of secure doors, which is what this recording was of- unlocking the 'old enter door'.

The third one was one of the parking security officers, Parking-9, calling an 'available roamer' to the southwest parking lot for something to do with a car. I notice they call their non-static officers 'roamers' as opposed to the more widely used 'rovers'. No idea why.
"Parking-9 to another available roamer, can I get you out to the southwest lot to help me (push?) a car back (unintelligible) stall".

The fourth one was also parking security, Parking-9 again, this time calling Parking-7, or "the officer posted at Garage-2".

Yeah, that's what I meant. Roger beeps are only found on FRS radios.

I don't know a whole lot about LTR systems, so any idea why I'm getting talkgroups in the 0-17-XXX format? I also picked up 0-18-112. And I've got the frequencies for repeaters 1, 4, 5, 6, 7; you don't happen to remember what 2 and 3 are, do you?

109 has had a fair amount of traffic in the past 36 hours, I just need to listen to all of it. I'm still monitoring 106 to see if anyone ever calls the channel by its name. There are tons of users.


Thanks Wil for the IDs; got a couple new ones up for ya or anyone else. I've actually got most of them, but it'd be nice if you could explain them, since you're so good at that :D
