I see Boeing fire in Everett has two different trunk systems. One is listed as Motorola Type II SmartZone and the other is Motorola Type IIi Hybrid. The fire dept for the Everett plant has different TG's listed for each system. I currently have the TG's programmed in to my scanner for the "SmartZone" system. But am I missing something with the "Hybrid" system? So my questions are.

1. For those who monitor both systems, am I going to gain anything my programming the Hybrid system in to my scanner? Or is the same fire data transmitted on both system?
2. Does my BC246T support the Hybrid system? Right now, when I program a SmartZone trunk I select Moto Type 2 800Mhz Standard. (Using ARC246T)
3. If so, what do I select as the trunk type when programming?

No, you will not gain anything. Once, maybe twice a day Foam 32 drives out to the runway and watches a new 777 takeoff, then returns to quarters. You can listen to "Foam 32 on the runway" on 123.475. See how easy that is?

My info is kinda fuzzy, but they have definitely upgraded the system from an Everett-only system to area wide--Bellevue, Seattle, Renton, etc from when I lasts heard them about 18 months ago to now. There are fire and medic dispatches for most of their plants. Two weeks ago, they had a major fire training event involving Everett and Mukilteo with simulated evacuations. I haven't had the trunker software running on it for quite some time so I don't know whether it still is hybrid I and II. I'm guessing it has been upgraded to Type II. If it hadn't been upgraded to Type II, I think my Pro 97 might show the talkgroups differently. I'm not positive but I think it is smart enuf to know the difference.

The Pro 97 will not even show some comms on Hybrid 1/2 Motorola so you couldnt tell, You will miss alot of comms and wont even hear them or know it! but you will still get the majority of stuff. But once you get the Fleetmap done correctly the Pro 97 wont miss a beat. Reason I know this is I recently (see post below) discovered Kitsap Transit is on a Hybrid type 1/2 system. But once I nailed the Fleetmap I was hearing more comms then I ever was. Weird but true!
