Which 'half' of the state are you intersested in? It could help narrow it down which frequencies to punch in.

Try 159.435- DNR. It will be quiet now but activity does increase come summer.

Klickitat DNR is on 159.375 using 3 different repeaters. Area 1A is Grayback Mt (central Klickitat co), 1B is on Juniper Point (east), and 1C is on Berdoin Mt. (west). 600 series engines are based in Husum, 700's in Goldendale.
Anybody have the freq. for Mt. Adams ranger dist repeater?

On the west side at least, DNR has gone away from "Area #A" and is using location names for their repeaters. You might still hear some users referring to the old names, but basically it's "Snohomish" or "Belfair". Most of the frequencies and tones change as they do the conversion.

I recommend using tone squelch because some of the frequencies are reused - they're far enough apart that DNR users don't hear the other district, but those of us halfway between hear both. Also, with the 7.5 spacing, most scanners will pick up traffic on adjacent frequencies.

So to be "covered" for DNR I should input all the DNR freqs from the Frequency database under dropdown "DNR"?? Would this be safe to do? Thanks..

That's one way you could do it. I initially did it that way, but then found myself locking out most of the DNR repeaters in other areas because there was too much traffic and it wasn't very interesting. During fire season, however, things change, right? When the DNR has to bring crews in from other DNR regions to fight a fire, they usually will set up a portable repeater just for the fire traffic instead of using the DNR Region repeater. There are some folks on this BBS who worked for DNR a long time ago, and perhaps there are some here who have much more knowledge than me, and perhaps they will chime up. take care...
