Does anyone know what frequencies the WSP officers use for talkaround ? This is what the officers use to talk between themselves without even dispatch hearing them. I am located in Pacific County and don't know if all the counties are the same or not.

The WSP is in the process of converting every "local Area" dispatch channel over to full repeater. This will take time as well as money. Several channels such as 154.905, 155.445 and 155.46 have been used as simplex car to car channels -- however it is possible for most WSP units to use ANY WSP frequency they desire for such communications. Local car to car communications will use the "Local Area" channel in the simplex mode. This will allow all units to still hear any emergency dispatch as well as local car to car -- at all times, without missing any message from the dispatch center. In the meantime -- try 154.905, 155.445 and 155.46.

I'm not sure about Pacific County but up in King and Pierce Counties, I have also seen some of the troopers using Nextel Direct Connect to talk to each other without dispatch hearing them.
