area is now using repeater operations on 154.755mhz

thier signal from both mobiles and base are booming across
the 49par into canada

gees no wonder why theres no canadian police sevices left in the 154-156mhz band WSP scared them all away with thier hi-powered repeaters. :lol:

:D :D If you are hearing the WSP in Canada -- blame it on the government of Canada. By international treaty -- when anyone files for a new FCC licence -- it is submitted to the FCC in Washington - who in turn sends it to Canada and unless Canada approves of the station -- within 150 miles of the Border -- in an area known as line A, it is not granted. Blame Canada. That is what Canada wanted. Radio is a natural resource that must be shared -- by all -- equally. If the WSP and RCMP don't mind -- why should you. Just be glad you can monitor the police. Its a right that can be taken away.

Hey Im not complaining

There arew quite afew US police repeaters(vhf and uhf/fm) that can be easly heard in Canada.
I listen to them on a regular basis seeing that our local police force has gone to that annoying MA/comm edac provoice digital (non-monitorable even with digital scanner) trunked system.
at least there's some good action left for me to listen to even if its coming from the good old USA.

btw... all of our rcmp forces have vacated the 154-156mhz band many years ago here in favor of the 138-144mhz 421-426mhz and 866-868mhz bands.

:D :D Glad that the US of A can provide a radio service to our friends up north. As for the RCMP -- yes you are correct -- but the RCMP does still maintain several VHF radio sysytems from 150 - 160 Mhz -- both in BC and Alberta. The US must still protect (Not use) those channels. I'm sure they are for back-up only -- but they still have a hold of a few channels. 159.03 was restricted near Vancouver for a special RCMP use. The WSP is still resticted from using 155.85 near the border area. Happy monitoring MTM
