Why would you want the disposition codes? The actual IDC (Initial Dispatch Code) doesn't get broadcast over the air.
These disposition codes (IDC's) are how the call receivers process their call and how they determine what is wrong or potentiall wrong with the patient. This is part of the county-wide Criteria Based Dispatching (CBD).
After the call, the firefighters must complete their King County MIRF (medical incident report form). On this form is a spot where you write in what the IDC (initial dispatch code/disposition) was.
There are other boxes where you write in the complaint code (what was actually wrong with the patient).
The IDC and the complaint code is weighted against each other for data purposes. Later on, King County EMS pulls out the data and provides reporting for a variety of purposes--mostly to review the efficacy of the system and level of care, etc.
So that's a quick run-down on what the disposition codes are for.
Hope this helps.
