There is probably a simply explaination to this that I am missing completely but...

What is Snocom and Snopac in Snohomish County and if your answer doesn't already explain it what is the difference between their talkgroups and SCSOs?

SNOCOM is the dispatch center for south Snohomish Co - they handle Lynnwood, Edmonds, MtLk Terrace, Brier and SCFD 1. SNOPAC is the dispatch center for police and fire north of Lynnwood. SNOPAC is also the primary dispatch for SCSO. I can't speak to the talk group question but in years past SCSO and the south county PD's have had the ability to talk to one another on each others main frequency. I can't see why that would change. Hpe this helped.

Ok, got that...now what's the difference between these two talk groups? Answer that and you're my hero...unless you say one is SCSO cause there is a whole set of talkgroups for them.

2416 MAIN CI-MAIN - Sno Co cities police dispatch

4816 1 SC-POLICE 1 - Snocom PD dispatch - All cities

CI-MAIN is the tg for the small cities that SNOPAC dispatches. Right now there is no traffic there as SCSO and their small cities are part of phase two of the countywide project. There is some simulcasting of SCSO South and their Tac 1 so that they can communicate with other agencies already using 800.

Police 1 is the primary tg for Edmonds, Woodway, MLT, Mill Creek and for about 5 hours a day Lynnwood. Come January 1 Mukilteo will be jumping ship from SnoPac to SnoCom and will likely share a 24 hour a day tg with Lynnwood on Police 2.

Also as an extra, Fire District 1, had switched to SnoPac several years ago. They are also coming back to SnoCom January 1.
