On a day to day basis, how much luck would I have listening to Seattle PD and FD talkgroups on the EPSCA system? Are those TGs present on EPSCA most of the time?

I currently live in downtown Seattle, but I'm moving to the east side soon, and I hope I'm still able to listen to the Seattle stuff easily...

There are 3 main simalcast sites in King County.

Clombia Tower (Seattle), EPSCA (Eastside), KC/VC (King County/ Valley Comm)
All the main channels are simalcasted on all these main sites.

If you want to here the secondary channels use have to use the site where the city is located on the control site. Or it the unit is on EPSCA and is near the Clombia Tower picking up the control channel. You will here that unit on both sites.

You have about a 90 % chance of hearing the main SPD talkgroups on EPSCA. It's pretty good, but not perfect. The only 100 % certain way of listening to them is to point at the Seattle simo.

Thanks.

I haven't had great luck picking up the EPSCA sites from Belltown, but I'm surrounded by tall buildings and lots of RF noise, so that doesn't mean much for trying the opposite. Does the signal from the Seattle system (probably the Northeast site) reach the south Bothell/Woodinville area with any reliability?
