Oh I'm not trying to say your wrong. I really don't know why I'm getting it.

Yes it is McChord. It trunks just fine. If I had the wrong freqs it wouldn't work properly. Maybe there is more than 1 system there. 1 may be digital the other is definetly not.

I ususally only hear the "ramp" people.

MTM. Yes I have to set the spacing.

The list from Police Call does not include all of the control channels that you have located. The only additional frequencies for Fort Lewis listed are: 406.00, 407.125 and 409.15. Police Call lists 408.55 but NOT 408.5375. In 1980 - BT (Before trunking) 407.375 was a CID channel and 407.475 was used at Gray AAF - by Fire and Crash crews. Thus confirming prior allocations to the USA - not USAF.

NO, I do not wish to post my info since the Department of Army has issued a letter asking that it not be posted. It is very easy to figure out, take a pro-93 or 95, put the control channel in and be done with it. Why does everyone always want everything handed to them, make a small effort and you got it.

I have given you guys up north a clue that there is a very large military trunked system that you have missed completely. When finished it will serve every base in western Washington. Search around a little once in awhille. :)

Thanks. I always enjoy a good early morning laugh.

The folks on here deserve a little more credit than you give them.

:D :D Thank You Northzone. We do live in a different world. I was at Ft. Lewis ('69-'71). Signal Corp and designed a 4 channel - VHF repeater system - to improve the 2 channel - simplex MP / CID radio system. No one liked it. Didn't see a need to cover the North Fort of Log Center. At that time - the MP's at Madigan Hospital shared the Fire channel - 165.0875 instead of being on 150.435 MP (F-1). CID used channel 2 and 172.400 was a low power extender. Ten years later - Fort Lewis went to the system I designed. I tryed to sell them a new RF Harris system, but they didn't see a need to make any change or improvements. I am NOT laughing at you - I am crying. Now they want to keep THEIR radio system secret. Up until now - no one seemed to care about anything. Fort Lewis is STATE PROPERTY rented by the Feds. Therefore, we have a right to know. I also worked the PIO when Jane Fonda tryed to enter the post. The fact that the WSP and State Guard MUST protect Ft. Lewis came up. Thanks for the info. I'll keep an ear and my mind open. MTM

I think you guys up there do a great job. Lewis is easy to figure out, if you listen at any given time you will only hear two control channels, one for the Lewis system and one for McChord. But the right control channel in with the standard offset and step size and it will trunk just great.

I don't get up there often so I hope someone can start figuring out the wide area military system going in. It will cover all bases in Western Washington when finsihed and no doubt will be digital. The first sign might be when the systems currently in use for the Naval bases around Pudget Sound go silent. It will be a fun system to figure out.

Also, I have information that the Seattle area will get the first 700mhz trunked system in the country. It is for the transit system and I know alot work has already been done. It of course will be digital as NO analog is allowed in the new 700 band.

Good luck hunting and have fun! :D

I wonder how far this site would go if everytime someone asked for a freq, the mods replied "go find it yourself"

So I take it that you have never taken advantage of any of the info on this or any other board?

I'm sure if the list is such a big deal the mods would remove the ones listed earlier in this thread.

I reviewed the link to the letter. It has no authority to it what so ever. A LTC in the signal corps...gimme a break! That letter would only go as far you could throw it if it came down to it. It was just another power trip by someone who was probrably recently promoted. Happens all the time in the Army.

This site has helped many of us with our hobby. I enjoy scanning the bands and finding new stuff to listen to. I occasionally like having things "handed to me". Especially when I have tried numerous times and failed with the Ft. Lewis system. Its obvious that you know your stuff. I am not as adept with my equipment as others are. I'm getting better though.

I could care less at this point of the wide area system thats coming. Its probrably a few years away knowing how those things pan out. I'll worry about it when its running smooth (if thats possible, ask the Tacoma PD about that one)

If you haven't noticed by now, theres a little give and take on this site. Instead of taking the bashing thats coming to you when others read your post, try a little of the give part.

Thanks, but no thanks Northzone.
