Anyone know the freqs for the SEATTLE Metropolitan Improvement District ambassadors, the guys and girls that roam Downtown Seattle on Bikes and Foot, I looked in the Intercept Frequency Database and could not find it, and in the King County Business (fixed and mobile), and not in that listing as well. Any help would be Great

Look at it this way...

Channel 1- Safety Ambassadors- 452.675 with a pl tone of 82.5

Channel 2- Maintenance- 452.675 with a pl tone of 82.5

Channel 3- 'Tac'- Dunno the freq

The radios display it thusly:

Why, what?

They use the same freq and tone, but a DTMF signalling tone of some sort, so that they don't hear each other.

No, I don't get it either.

:D :D Most often -- on a shared channel -- they would just use a different PL or DCS code for each service. I have seen this at several malls -- that share the same channel between Security and Maintenance. Any possiblity that they just use two different tones ??

No, I verified and re-verified this. Every time a unit keys up the mic, there's some sort of MODAT-style signalling using DTMF tones....I never really bothered to figure it out, I'm not that interested. I did ask one of the safety guys, he verified the seperation between the 2 channels.

I understand about the multiple channels/tones thing, I remember the Muckleshoot Casino used to use 476.7625/.8125 shared over 8 channels, difering PL tones.

SO -- how does Security know that they use the same channel - if they cant't hear the other units ??? Try listening to 457.6625, 457.6875, 457.7125 and 457.7375. They most likely are the missing F-3 and F-4 's. Maybe two for security and two for all other users. What type of radios do they use ??

...Because I held my scanner and we listened to both it and his radio at the same time.

Those MID-licensed freqs were not loaded into the guy's radio, I had them entered and we tried that. I didn't have the Scout with me :(

...Some sort of Kenwoods.
