Do any of you use AA Rechargeable Lithium-Ion Batteries in your scanners?

They are 3000mWh and need a special charger.

lifetime: 5x most Ni-MH batteries.

Available from Amazon & Radioshack.com.

I used to have a massive cache of NiMH PowerWerx rechargeables with a really nice Lacrosse analyzer/conditioner/charger. Honestly, I recycled all of the batteries last year because they haven't been used for at least 5 years. I keep my radios plugged in, either via a 110v wall wart or an Anker battery pack. I keep alkaline Duracells in them for emergent monitoring opportunities and swap those on a 6 month schedule (40 pack from Costco).

I've been using Eneloop NiMh with a Powerex smart charger for years. Have dozens of them and haven't managed to kill any. Easier to carry a few extra than switch technology at this point.

3000 mWh = about 2000 mAh!
