In a pinch, a 1/4 wave 800 mhz antenna, bent in half to make half the radiator horizontal, works great as an L1 GPS RX antenna...

My hockey puck went tango uniform for some reason.... gotta order a spare...

Sorry for the quality..cameras don't like focusing when you're jumping to take a picture...
