I am trying to find about the health and where abouts of Sam Lester who was a radio tech with KTRH in approx the 1950's or 1960's and in more recent times held the radio call WB5VML. As far as I know Sam resided in the Milam, Texas area. Sam is mentioned on this web page: http://houstonradiohistory.blogspot.com ... -1943.html Sam and myself (and many others) are members of a "Flight Simulator" discussion usenet group called alt.games.microsoft.flight-sim and a Delphi Forum's group called: alt.games.microsoft.flight-sim V2.0 (http://forums.delphiforums.com/FlightSimulator) He used the nym "sambodidley" in both groups. All of us in both groups have not heard from our friend since approx 20 October 2014. He kinda "disappeared" without a word to either group - which has left us all wondering about his health and possible where-abouts. I am hopeful that someone out there may know about him and can help with some current information. We know he had just turned 90 (?) and that he was also legally blind and seemed to be having more difficulty with his vision in recent months. He had been living by himself for many years. So life must have been incredibly difficult for him. Our best guess is that he has had to move to a "hospital" environment where he can be better cared for. Sadly, I have been trying to browse through as many funeral and death notices as I can find for the Texas area. So far no success, so I'm hopeing thats a good thing.
