Not that anyone besides me cares, but I was mildly amused to find the Puyallup Costco employees carrying TYT portables...

OU-812.

Didn't get close enough to look; just saw the "TYT" on a few.

Picked up my first scanner in.. 2 decades?

I was watching some small drug seizure auctions.... 99% of the time it's junk, but it goes cheap.

They listed a scanner, mixed in with 2 FRS radios as 'three walkie talkies'..

I was an idiot, and set a pre-bid, not knowing it was a FLAT bid and not a maximum bid...... for $66.

Well, no one else bid, and I got a really nice BCD436HP..for $66..Even had some decent eneloop batteries in it.... and a like new Leatherman wave in leather holster for $10....

Original firmware from 2014, and database was that old. Nothing programmed in it except default crap.

Gotta love stupid people. Some drug dealer spends close to $400 on a scanner, and the guy is too dumb to program it....

Kinda nice to not have to run my computer to listen to PCSO...or TPD..

The Washington Air National Guard obviously knows something the rest of us don't (this was a flight from JBLM to FAFB).

As a minor aside, if you've spent like 28 hours awake, flown 2000 miles, packed up an entire house and then embarked on a 3500 mile road trip caravanning with 2 other vehicles, on a total of like 2 hours sleep, stop and think before you ghetto install a 25-watt dual band mobile with a mag mount antenna with 3 feet separation from a 6db gain Comtelco antenna feeding a TRX-1.

I weep for what cool stuff I missed.

And avoid run-on sentences.
