semi related.

At a new job, I whip out my leatherman c301 (pocket knife, 3" blade), to cut open a box.

Him: You can't have that
Me: Have what?
Him: That.
Me: What?
Him: There's a big sign in the back that says you can't have that.
Me: Can't have what?
Him: (points to my knife) That.
Me: My knife?
Him: Yeah, you can't have any weapons in here (as he pulls out a razor aka box cutter, with a full blade)
Me: It's a tool, not a weapon, it's how you use it. Just like a gun.
Him: Well you can't have it here.
Me: Well, you can use a box cutter as a weapon too, it's all in how it's used. This is a tool, not a weapon.
Him: No, you can only use a box cutter to open boxes, not as a weapon.
Me:  .......... (was about to mention 9/11 but I just kept my mouth shut and walked away)

Just now... local pd puts out a possible DUI, swerving, 20mph in a 40, hard braking, etc. Local PD officer makes the stop... 16 y/o female learning to drive with dad. Units clear.

About 3 minutes later, a general message comes over the MDT: Caller who reported that DUI now on the phone demanding Sergeant contact them regarding this officer who let the "DUI" go so a complaint can be filed with Internal Affairs about favoritism, obvious corruption, etc. Caller does not believe operator's explanation re: driver's ed. Is becoming hysterical with call receiver.
