Outlook 07/XP keeps prompting for password. Annoying.
Last week it compacted messages.
Now the annoying password box keeps popping up.
What I've done so far:
Deleted profile & account, created new one.
Deleted then created dword under RPC- regedit.
Did all the obvious 'click this' solutions.
SSL for incoming & outgoing. Port settings for gmail.
Add-ins have been looked through.
Rebooted after each change.

Anyone have this issue?

What ISP do you have? If you're using Windows Live (or Outlook.com) then it's likely a known bug with the latest version of Microsoft Exchange.

Wildblue.
It did start after last week's update release.

It just depends on what they're using for an email server. I know the new Exchange has some minor issues still yet to be resolved.

It's hooked to my gmail.

1. XP is the OS loaded when I bought the box, at the time it was hard to find something w/o Vista.
2. I'm familiar with Office stuff and like the way it 'ties together'.

Do you know if it stores data locally?

I'm trying Thunderbird right now.
If it can import all my contacts and prior messages I'll be set.

I use Thunderbird but don't recommend it.

You'd think a $500 program (Office) could remember a password when checked.
