Although I've always hated Apple's products, his innovative enthusiasm will never be matched. Jokingly said.... you know you've reached the top, when Saturday Night Live consistently makes fun of you. On many levels, he hit the pinnacle. RIP Steve Jobs.

He seemed young to have his body fail like that.

I was thinking the same thing. My kids will just be turning 18 when I'm that age. I'd hate to go out at that point in time.

This brings back some memories. The Apple 2 was a great computer, although the design can be attributed to Steve Wozniak. I was a guru of those things which of course is worthless this day and age.

One big plus of the current MacOS is being based on Unix which is nice in that a lot of powerful open-source programs will compile on it not to mention you can even run Windows or other flavors of Unix-ish operating systems whether as a multi-boot or a VM. Gotta love the flexibility, though of course you can run MacOS on a PC as well..

But back on the subject here, Jobs was a good marketing man and his successes far outweighed his failures (anyone else remember the Lisa, Apple 3, etc ?). Terrible way for him to go at such a young age. Despite his pending death he hung on to the end and even found the time to gracefully transfer control of the company.

My favorite Steve Jobs moment where he called up Osborne Computers, and told Adam Osbourne's secretary to "Tell Adam he's an asshole".
