Umm, that's how they do it here in the US of A.

Colorado, Utah and California. Now I don't know if would have been standing where the camera was, but that was an ENOURMOUS slide.

Much safer than dumping charges out of a helicopter :mrgreen:

When an avalanche hazard develops, WSDOT uses artillery, or explosives to trigger the avalanche. These are delivered by a variety of methods depending on the topography and accessibility to the avalanche path. Explosives are placed by hand, cable-pulley bomb trams, or with surplus military weapons. "Tanks or old 105mm"
