Since most weekends for me are at either end of the spectrum; i.e. four days off in a row or no days off at all, I thought I'd start a topic that I can use to steal ideas from and impress the wife.

Starting off- I think I'm going to be deer hunting again this weekend, as the area I usually hunt closes Sunday.

You guys?

Discuss.

Hunted the White River unit today...Saw a doe, took a shot at a coyote.

Hiked too far in the snow.

First season in 10 years that I have not gone hunting.( family member with a medical prob, so I help out with his business for now till he gets back on his feet)

My days off are in the middle of the work week, so I might take the Ruckus out if the weather is nice on wed.

Or I should drop off my HF radio to have it looked at, and maybe get it back on the air for this winter.

Still awake, and it's 2136. Getting up at 0200, leaving 0300 to head out to White Pass for a last chance at elk.

Re-zeroed the Savage, 3 shot group in slightly under .75" at 200 yards with Barnes VOR-TX rounds.

I ended up not getting an elk.
Hiked all over Hell's Half Acre aka White Pass, up and down about 5k vertical and I don't want to think about the horizontal. Tracked one up a 75% slope in a foot of snow, and over the top; lost him in a rockslide area when the tracks went away.
Saw another at first light, one point away from being a shooter.

Next year.
