They're two different systems. E911 is a telephone thing.
WASIC, DoL, Access, NCIC (& all the others) are separate.
It pops up at the bottom on the return.
Something like this:

That pisses me off...
1. It's none of your damn business that I have guns
2. CAUTION?! WTF?! I went through the LEGAL way to conceal a pistol, and now I'm being looked at as a potential threat?
Other than the fact that you need a CPL to carry a loaded weapon in car, I wouldn't even get a CPL.. Open carry is legal :D
Not a lot of people know that you're not legally required to register your firearms in WA..
All but one of the firearms I've purchased have been through private sales, confirmed not stolen, and never registered.
I'm all for officer safety, but I'm sick and tired of it being at the expense of privacy/liberty.
Let's not all pop a gasket over this....
So far, no one I've talked to (other officers, dispatchers, data people) have EVER seen the "Caution: Concealed Weapons Permit" tag on any return they have access to. If there's some agency that has internal RMS or MDC software that makes that tag, then so be it - it's specific to an agency.
The current DOL returns make NO reference to CPL status. It's a separate query (though some software will make that inquiry automatically, it's still a separate query done by the software - not the officer/data person). Even that query doesn't have any "Caution" tags - it's just a return with basic permit information.
About the only time I'm concerned about someone having a gun is when they walk at me with their hand in their pockets, or if they're rummaging around under their seat. Or, if they're perched on a rooftop or grassy knoll. Otherwise, I don't really care too much. I'd hate to think of all the times a gun has been pointed at me - without my knowledge.
