So this website has some real good deals on scanners, but the reviews for this website are all over the place. Anyone on here ever had any luck or bad luck with them?? Take a look, but you know what they say about too good to be true. I dont know if I want to take the risk.

If it's too good to be true, then it probably is. That's what I always say.

I'm leary of electronics dealers in NY. This place does look legit and they don't appear to be selling refurbished equipment. The prices are not that much better than other places.

You might consider the 7-day wait for shipping and order from HRO Portland - which is 1-day to WA state - perhaps longer to remote areas.

Prices are not that far under large named online sources, so I'd be leery of any place back East. I've bought a lot of electronics through Buy.com in Calif. and get it in 2 days. My Uniden BCT15X was $215 with free shipping. I see it's $214 at SBH.

Sign up for the e-mails and you'll get 10-15% off coupons or do a Google search for the best prices. Most of the large sites are offering some kind of discounts if you spend more than $100 plus free shipping.

Not really, because that's what's paying the salaries of the people you're listening to.

Yes. Just the last couple of weeks. And I will NEVER buy form them again.
I purchased 10 scanners for my dept as for they were about 25.00 cheaper per scanner than any other place on the net.
The guy who helped me out "David" was an arrogant ass**le.
When I made the purchase, I wanted him to email me the tracking number. His answer was "Send us an email with your order number". I found out later this is his standard answer to everything.
After a few days of not hearing anything I called back, got David again, and asked for the tracking number. He then tells me his "computer system" is down and told me to call back later. Nice customer service.
I waited a few more hours, called back and he said he would call me later with the tracking number that night.
Still no call that night so I called again the next day. He was a super turbo ass this time on the phone. Did not want to talk to me, just said I would have it by end of day.
He did end up calling the next day, but called the wrong contact number and left a message that was to the effect "Your tracking number is bla bla bla bla bla". Then hung up. No mention of his name or company.
I finally figured this out and got the tracking number, but it was wrong. So I called again the next day and got the correct one from him. Once again, he was a super ass on the phone.

The scanners were delivered on a Friday and I went and picked them up. On Sunday I opened the box and there was only 7 in there. So I called again on Monday and got, you guessed it, David. I explained that only 7 were in the box and his reply was "O ya, were sending a 2nd box with the last 3". So I asked for the tracking number again and got the standard answer of "Send us an email with your order number". Which I did and never got a reply. The 2nd box was finally delivered that week with the last 3 scanners. Total it took about 14 days to get all 10 scanners.
After reviewing my calls with David, I figured out that he had lied to me a couple of times when he told me the scanners had shipped.

This was only half the battle. But to put it short, neither box came with a packing slip or anything. I needed one, and or a detailed receipt for our dept records.
I spent the next 10 days (or so) begging for a detailed receipt. Several calls (to my buddy David), two emails and one fax number later, I still did not get a receipt.
Our dept secretary did some calling and finally got one after a few days.

I'm glad someone asked about them because I really wanted to get the word out to a meaningful audience.

The end result is that we did get a 10 scanners at a great price. But the company and customer service is absolutely horrid. I will NEVER EVER buy form them again.

FYI, according to the state's web site, only .5% of the 8.9% sales tax goes to LE county/city/jail/communications public safety.

Thanks Rodent, I had a feeling that was the norm with this place. All the reviews I could find were about 50/50 at best. Id rather pay more that have a big hassle.
