Next we have the female "medical marijuana dispensary" woman who called to report a very high suspect destroying her store. Description? "Male, 20's, red shirt, jeans sagged to the knees, cornrows". Caller adamantly refuses to identify the race of the suspect because "it shouldn't be important". Caller also does not want officers to enter the "clinic"...cancelled a few minutes later when she called back and stated she didn't want LE assistance at all unless they were, and I quote, "unarmed".

These callers should be fined heavily and subject to false reporting.

Since we're off topic, I'd like to post a "rave" for The Supply Cache. Excellent customer service, and since our order apparently took longer then 8 hours to pick and pack for shipping, they upgraded to 2-Day Priority shipping free of charge...Their accounting department is probably groaning over that one.

Wil's Rant O' the Day:

Freeway on-ramps, when not clogged with morons and/or metered, shall henceforth be treated as street-legal drag strips...Not "OMG I'm merging into traffic faster than me and I should slam on the brakes" ramps...Not "Weeeellll I was just going 25, everyone else is going 70, so 45 seems like a perfectly safe speed" ramps.

People around here seem to judge freeway speeds by the "Hot Bathtub" method, as in "We'll Just Stop right Here And Maybe Dip A Toe In To Judge It".

When, in the future, you find yourself atop one of these obviously evil devices, do what Wil does: Select a passing vehicle below you and consider your it Duty to catch it by the time you merge into traffic.

:liar: Unfortunately, years ago, I learned the "hard way" that WSP will use this as an opportunity to increase the revenue of the State

I will add be sure that any vehicles following the one selected are NOT equipped with radios, lightbars, cameras, radar, LIDAR, etc... And what do you do about those ramps which provide absolutely NO view of traffic on the highway "until its too late"??? Thus the policy could be modified to include "Under No circumstances regardless of the speed of mainline traffic, exceed the posted speed of said mainline"... I will however admit the policy advocated is absolutely necessary for survival when driving onto freeways in Austin, Texas   Los Angeles is not much different. If one in L.A. expects traffic on the freeway to slow to a crawl to observe the condition of disabled vehicles or those being selected for "State revenue enhancement" you WILL be disappointed.

At least one person failed to read my "Tips for Merging onto Freeways" above.

I was getting on the 705 south from Stadium this afternoon/evening when what to my wondering eyes should appear but a moron, completely stopped on the ramp from SB Schuster Parkway to the 705, taking a pic of Mount Rainier with his cellphone.

I heard the screeching tires and impact sounds as I merged, but since I was heading to work, I tried very hard not to think about it.

Who needs those annoying smoke detectors or pesky "sprinklers" anyhow?
