Just was given an Uniden BC860XLT, which was purchased in 1995 It was working perfectly before I got it. The previous owner lives in a different county than I do. We cannot get the darn thing to work. We have entered the new frequencies for our county but nothing happens. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

The 860 doesn't do digital or trunking so unless your local systems are conventional analog there won't be much to hear.
